I’ve been working on the Telecaster (see the old posts here and here) over the last couple of years, replacing substandard bits here an there. A couple of weekends ago, I bought myself a can of fluorescent orange spray paint at Home Depot, and now I have a guitar that nearly glows in the dark.
This, of course, demonstrates the best thing about the homemade guitar. For $6 you can pretty much give it a makeover. Try doing that to your $1000 American series with three color sunburst finish without losing any sleep!*
I am at Four Dogs on July 27th. It’s a great place to play, hope to see you there.
(*I have to hand it to him, Joe Strummer did exactly that)
